Is this Harrison Ford With His Crosley?

A few months ago I stumbled across a scan of a vintage photo of a Pre War Crosley convertible with a boy in a t shirt leaning on it, staring into the camera.   It was posted on a 'good old days' themed thread on the HAMB hot rod site, and the the person who posted the picture didn't know the original source for the image.
From the boy's hair, clothes and the houses in the background I'd say the picture could have been taken anytime from the late thirties to about 1955.  Aside from the Crosley, it would be a fairly nondescript image - except that the kid in the photo is supposed to be future movie star Harrison Ford!

Now That's Funny

Picked up a copy of Addams and Evil, cartoonist Charles Addams' 1947 collection of cartoons from The New Yorker, this weekend and was happily surprised to find this gag involving a prewar Crosley on about the third page.  (The rest of the book is good too!)

Hers Since 1947

The Washington Times recently posted an article about Sandra Alger, who has had her 1941 Crosley convertible since 1947, when her Uncle Arvel gave it to her at the age of 6.  Sadly, no photos, but it does mention that she once took the car the Crosley Auto Club national meet in Wauseon.  Full story here.

Crosley Postcards

I'm a total OCD collector/hoarder type, but I do my best NOT to collect everything with a picture of a Crosley car on it.  I do pretty well when it comes to newer stuff, but I can't seem to stop buying old magazines with the occasional Crosley photo.  I do manage to pass up most postcards for the simple reason that I can save scans that look almost as good as the originals.  I thought I'd share a batch of stuff I've saved up... enjoy!

His First Car: '39 Crosley

This may be old news for some of you, but I just came across this great short feature about Glenn Klein's first car from the Orange County Register of July 21st, 2010.

Tin Block Times is OUT- and so am I!

The new issue of the TBT went out last week.  As always, contributors sent in some stellar stuff - Chuck Latty wrote the cover story about growing up with a Crosley sedan in the family and Marty Stein provided another detailed history of an etceterini- this time it was his 1952 Siata.  Part II will run next issue.  We also had a report on the Wauseon National Meet, reviews of Crosley-related books and classifieds.

2011 Crosley Club Meet in Wauseon: Part II

By the halfway point on the first day of the meet my brain was pretty well Crosley-cooked.  There were Crosleys everywhere, from hopped up drag cars to spot on restorations, from crazy old customs to barn cars up for sale.  I admit it, I was overwhelmed.
