Ebay Watch: TQ Midget Project

There's a pretty interesting project car on Ebay right now: a '40s or '50s era TQ Midget.  Seller says this started out as a motorcycle-engined car and was later converted to Crosley power.  It's missing some parts, but the hard-to-find components (including the 'Kris Kraft' [Kurtis Kraft?] body) seem to be there, and it comes with a complete running Crosley motor ready to drop in.

Crosley was a somewhat popular engine in this class - I've seen pictures of quite a few of these over the years.  Maybe it's just me, but they all look kinda funky.... which is saying something if they look funkier than regular Crosleys.  There is some nice detail work, especially the seat.

The seller claims to have had the car for 25 years and has managed to track down some Ohio race history on the car.   By his Ebay handle ('Crosleygreen') and the Super Sports parked in the background of one photo I'm guessing the seller knows his Crosley stuff.  Still no bids at the $1299 opener - seems like a screamin' deal compared to the scam-artist Midget I featured a couple of years ago.  I'll be curious to see where this ends up...

Funny I just stumbled upon your post.
I just made the opening bid this morning on the TQ. We'll see how that works out.
